Offers advice and expertise relative to estate planning in the various stages of life impacting planning goals, i.e. marriage, minor children, disability, divorce, second marriage, long term care, etc. Prepares documents designed to assist in achieving particular planning goals, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills; durable powers of attorney; living wills; and health care proxies. Advises and assists with business succession plans.
Represents executors, administrators, and trustees throughout the estate administration and settlement process. Guides fiduciaries through probate and trust administration. Advises fiduciaries on various obligations associated with the administration of an estate. Prepares estate tax returns, probate filings as well as documents relating to trust share funding, asset retitling, and asset distribution.
Advises clients relative to the formation, control, transition, and maintenance of new and existing businesses. Works closely with business organizations to advise and assist with the resolution of the various issues facing the entity, including governance, succession, and maintenance. Reviews, prepares, and negotiates buy-sell agreements, cross-purchase agreements, commercial leases, asset and stock acquisition agreements, redemption agreements, bylaws, operating agreements as well as other business related documents.
